Vacuum System of Freeze Dryers (Part Six)

Sep,10,2025 << Return list

TOFFON Freeze Dryer - Vacuum System of Freeze Dryers (Part Six)

The vacuum control system of the freeze dryer consists of various control components. TF freeze dryers utilize PLC-based automation to dynamically monitor and adjust the system vacuum level according to pre-set freeze-drying process curves, ensuring stable and efficient operation throughout the entire process.

The vacuum system comprises the freeze-drying chamber, condenser, vacuum pipelines, valves, and the vacuum pump. It requires excellent overall sealing performance to prevent any leakage, thereby maintaining the necessary low-pressure environment inside the freeze-drying chamber. The performance of the vacuum pump directly impacts the drying rate and product quality. The system is equipped with a two-stage oil rotary vane vacuum pump, with an optional Roots pump available to further enhance pumping efficiency.

The vacuum system is essential for rapid sublimation and drying of materials. During the primary drying stage, a reduced vacuum level allows ice to sublimate directly into vapor at low temperatures, effectively removing moisture. An appropriate vacuum level not only accelerates sublimation but also prevents overheating or structural collapse, preserving the active ingredients, physical structure, and rehydration properties of the freeze-dried products.
